Two pieces of late-summer transfer business moved into their closing stages on Thursday, with Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi set for a loan switch to Crystal Palace and Ireland forward Troy Parrott completing a move from AZ Alkmaar to Real Betis, ONE reports.
Disasi's deal to Selhurst Park is a paid loan for the 2026/27 season with no option to buy, according to reporting from RMC Sport and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano that ONE's report drew on. Palace will pay Chelsea a loan fee and cover the 28-year-old Frenchman's wages for the duration of his stay.
The France international has been frozen out at Stamford Bridge since being left out of Enzo Maresca's plans in January 2025, and has already had loan spells away at Aston Villa and West Ham United since then. A permanent Chelsea exit has not materialised, but another temporary switch looks set to take him to south London instead.
Palace's interest is tied to their thinning centre-back options after Marc Guehi departed for Manchester City and Maxence Lacroix left in the opposite direction to Chelsea this summer. Disasi was reported to be undergoing a medical as talks over personal terms were finalised, with the move still short of an official announcement from either club at the time of writing.
In Spain, Real Betis have confirmed rather cleaner business. Troy Parrott's transfer from AZ Alkmaar has been completed, RTE reported, with the Irish forward signing a contract that runs until 2031.
The fee is reported at roughly €16m, with add-ons that could push the total value of the deal toward €20m as Parrott's stock has risen sharply over the past year in the Netherlands.
Spanish outlets covering the deal have suggested Parrott's own insistence on playing Champions League football pushed AZ into lowering their initial valuation, clearing the way for Betis — who qualified for Europe's top continental competition last season — to get their man.
Parrott has become a regular for the Republic of Ireland under Heimir Hallgrimsson and heads to La Liga with his career trending sharply upward after a difficult run of injuries and false starts earlier in his development at Tottenham.
Both deals fit into a European transfer window edging toward its September 1 deadline, with clubs across the Premier League and La Liga still shuffling their squads before the new season settles in.
