Seven months ago Levante presented Tai Abed as a marquee arrival, a young Israeli winger plucked from PSV Eindhoven's reserves for a club with big ambitions. On Monday he was left out of the matchday squad again, this time for the trip to Osasuna, with ONE reporting that Levante is now actively trying to sell him.
It is the second straight league game Abed has missed entirely. He was also absent from the squad list for Levante's La Liga opener on August 16, a 3-0 defeat away to Espanyol in which Roberto Fernandez scored twice and Tyrhys Dolan added a late third.
According to ONE, Levante currently have three separate offers on the table for the 22-year-old and are ready to cash in rather than keep carrying a player who has barely featured since he arrived.
The numbers explain the club's thinking. Since signing in January, Abed has not completed a full 90 minutes in a Levante shirt — a striking comedown from the fanfare that greeted his move to Spain's top flight.
That transfer, completed on January 21, 2026, ended four and a half years at PSV Eindhoven, where Abed rose from the youth academy into the reserve side, Jong PSV, and racked up 77 appearances and 25 goals in the Eerste Divisie. Sport5 reported PSV received roughly €2 million for the winger, who put pen to a contract running through 2029.
Abed's route to the Netherlands began in Tel Aviv, where he was born in August 2004 and came up through the youth ranks at Maccabi Tel Aviv and then Hapoel Tel Aviv before PSV signed him in 2021.
Levante face Osasuna at Estadio El Sadar on Monday, with kickoff at 20:30 Israel time (18:30 local), still searching for their first point of the season after last week's opening-day loss. Abed will be watching from outside the squad, his immediate future at the club now hanging on whichever of the three reported offers Levante decide to accept.
