Manchester City have thrown their hat into one of the most frenetic transfer chases of the European summer, according to a report by ONE, entering the race to sign RB Leipzig's teenage winger Yan Diomande.
Citing German journalist Philipp Hinze of Sky Sports Germany, ONE reports that City have verbally told Leipzig's leadership they are prepared to submit an offer worth around €100 million for the 19-year-old Ivorian, matching the sums already tabled by two of Europe's traditional heavyweights.
Both Real Madrid and Liverpool have already had bids in that region turned down by Leipzig this summer, with the Bundesliga club making clear that admiration for Diomande's talent runs well ahead of any willingness to sell on the cheap.
Leipzig's stance, according to multiple reports corroborating the ONE story, is that anything short of roughly €120 million is unlikely to shift a player they signed from Leganés for a reported €20 million only last year.
Paris Saint-Germain remain in the picture too, long seen as keen admirers of the winger, though no formal PSG bid has yet been confirmed to Leipzig.
For City, the interest fits a pattern: Pep Guardiola's side have repeatedly gone after young, explosive wide players in recent windows, and Diomande's blend of pace and end product has made him one of the most sought-after teenagers in Europe this year.
The winger enjoyed a breakout campaign in Leipzig colours, contributing 12 goals in the Bundesliga, before starring for Ivory Coast at the 2026 World Cup, where he was one of the tournament's most eye-catching young performers.
Nothing is close to done, however. City's approach, as described in the report, remains a verbal indication of intent rather than a submitted bid, and Leipzig have so far shown no sign of budging on their asking price for a player who still has years left on his contract.
