Hapoel Upper Galilee have found their answer to a hole in the backcourt, confirming on Tuesday that guard Itay Moshkovitch has signed with the club for a second stint, ONE reports.
Moshkovitch, 26, previously wore the club's colours during the 2022/23 season. His return fills the gap left by Yuval Sznajderman, who has departed the Galilee for Hapoel Eilat.
"His return represents far more than just another signing," the club said in a statement carried by ONE. "It symbolises continuity, a genuine connection to our club's values and belief in the path we're building together. We are confident that his heart, fighting spirit and character will help us throughout the season."
The statement continued: "Itay already knows the club, the fans and the unique spirit of the Galilee, and now he returns with more experience, greater confidence and the same commitment to give everything on the court in every game."
According to ONE, Moshkovitch arrives from Elitzur Netanya, where he averaged 7.5 points, 2.4 assists and 2.7 rebounds a game last season. Other Israeli outlets, including a July 2025 announcement from Ironi Nes Ziona, had listed that club as his most recent destination for the 2025/26 campaign — a discrepancy in his exact last stop that this outlet could not fully resolve from the available reporting.
Whichever club he is arriving from, Moshkovitch's career has been a well-travelled one for a player still only 26: spells with Elitzur Netanya, Hapoel Upper Galilee, Hapoel Haifa and Maccabi Ramat Gan have all featured since he broke through as a National League standout in his early twenties.
Hapoel Upper Galilee, based at the Heichal HaPais in Kiryat Shmona and drawing support from across the Galilee panhandle, are shaping their roster for the coming Israeli Premier League season with a mix of continuity and fresh faces — and in Moshkovitch's case, a bit of both at once.
