Hapoel Nof HaGalil is rebuilding its youth coaching staff this summer, moving to steady an academy that had been left in limbo while the club sorted out its senior-team direction following relegation from Liga Leumit to Liga Aleph at the close of the 2025/26 season.

At the head of the reshuffle is Roei Cohen, who has been installed as the club's professional manager. Cohen arrives with experience in the same role at M.S. Kfar Qasem and at Hapoel Kfar Saba in the National League, and his appointment is intended to give the academy a clearer chain of command after a period of uncertainty tied to the senior team's fall.

Giorgi Daraselia, the Georgian-born former midfielder who has held administrative roles in the club's youth setup since 2022, remains closely involved with the department. Daraselia, who played for Hapoel Tel Aviv and other Israeli sides after arriving from Georgia in the late 1990s and later helped Maccabi Haifa to league titles as part of its coaching staff, is reported to be taking on direct coaching duties with the age group born in 2010.

Islam Kanaan continues in his post overseeing the club's youth coaching, staying on to work with the age group born in 2009 — the cohort that won a northern regional championship this past season, a result the club is hoping to build on as several of those players move up through the ranks.

Gabi Mistatski is returning to coach the 2011 age group, a reappointment the club has framed as a vote of continuity for a coach already familiar with the squad, while Shachar Poni joins the staff to take charge of a younger junior group, bringing experience gained coaching youth sides elsewhere in the north.

The appointments matter beyond the academy's internal bookkeeping: Israeli lower-league clubs typically depend on a functioning youth pipeline to offset the financial strain of relegation, and a settled coaching panel is often the first visible sign that a club's off-field affairs have stabilized after a difficult season.

The changes were reported by the club's channels and by ONE; the precise scope of each coach's mandate for the 2026/27 season, including exact league placements for every junior squad, had not yet been independently detailed by other outlets at the time of writing, and should be treated as provisional pending further confirmation.
