Oren Sahar has been introduced by Pepperdine as he begins a new development route in US college basketball. Walla Sport reports that the guard arrives from Maccabi Tel Aviv and Israel’s youth national-team system.

Pepperdine coach Griff Aldrich highlighted Sahar’s natural scoring and passing. Those strengths should give him a route into the rotation, but the transition will also test his decision-making against different athletic profiles and defensive schemes.

The move matters to Israeli basketball because college programmes are becoming a more visible part of the development map. Minutes, role stability and year-to-year progression will be more revealing than the excitement of the initial announcement.
