Real Madrid have put an official €100 million offer on the table for RB Leipzig's Yan Diomandé, according to a report carried by Sport5 citing The Athletic, as the 19-year-old Ivorian's stock continues to soar after a breakout World Cup.
The bid, reported as roughly €90m plus €10m in add-ons, would make Diomandé one of the more expensive teenage transfers in the sport's history. Leipzig, however, have rejected the proposal, with the club said to be holding out for a fee north of €100m.
Leipzig's sporting director Marc Sartik pushed back publicly on the speculation, insisting the club has no intention of selling. "Our clear intention is that Yan Diomandé will play for Leipzig next season," he said, a standard line clubs use to shore up leverage during a bidding war rather than a guarantee the player stays.
Diomandé only joined Leipzig from CD Leganés last year but exploded onto the scene with 12 goals and nine assists in 33 Bundesliga appearances, numbers that turned an inexpensive punt into one of European football's hottest properties.
His value has been supercharged by a strong showing for Ivory Coast at the ongoing World Cup, where he has started every match and set up a goal, further sharpening interest from clubs well beyond Madrid.
Real Madrid are not alone in the race. Sport5's report notes PSG have been in talks with the player's camp for weeks without reaching an agreement, while Liverpool had already tabled a €100m bid of their own earlier in the transfer window.
Diomandé is under contract at Leipzig until the summer of 2030, which strengthens the Bundesliga club's negotiating position and explains why they feel entitled to push the asking price beyond the nine-figure mark already offered.
With Real Madrid actively seeking reinforcements on the right flank, and Leipzig digging in, this looks set to run for weeks yet — the fee, not the destination, is now the main sticking point.
