UFC flyweight Allan Nascimento has died at the age of 34 after suffering an apparent heart attack in his sleep, the promotion confirmed on Monday, in a sudden loss that has stunned the mixed martial arts community.
The Brazilian, from São Paulo, was found unresponsive in the early hours of the morning. A medical team was called and attempted to resuscitate him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
"This morning, Monday, August 3, our beloved fighter and exemplary flyweight Allan Nascimento was found unresponsive after suffering an apparent heart attack in his sleep," the UFC said in a statement. "Despite the efforts of the responding medical team, he was pronounced deceased at the scene."
The organisation extended its "deepest condolences" to his family, friends, teammates and loved ones, a message echoed across the sport as tributes poured in from fighters and fans who knew him as "Puro Osso".
Nascimento built a respected 12-year professional career, compiling a 22-7 record across 29 fights, with the bulk of his wins coming by submission. He went 4-2 across six appearances inside the UFC's flyweight division.
His most recent fight came on June 20, when he dropped a three-round split decision to Mitch Raposo at a UFC Fight Night card in Las Vegas — a defeat that, in hindsight, marked the final appearance of his career.
Nascimento was born on September 11, 1991, and had been a fixture of the flyweight scene for over a decade, fighting his way onto the UFC roster after building his name on the Brazilian regional circuit.
News of his death, first reported in Israel by ONE, has since been confirmed by outlets across the MMA world, with the UFC's own tribute serving as the clearest account of what happened in his final hours.
