Hapoel Ironi Eilat have added a new floor general for the 2026/27 season, confirming the signing of 23-year-old point guard Yuval Schneiderman, ONE reports.
Schneiderman arrives in the Red Sea city after a season with Hapoel Galil Elyon, where he averaged 8.3 points, 4.0 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game — numbers that made him one of the more productive young playmakers outside Israel's top flight.
It is the latest stop in a well-travelled career for the Jerusalem-born guard, who came up through Hapoel Jerusalem's youth system before spells at Hapoel Galboa Gilboa, Maccabi Ironi Ramat Gan, Ironi Kiryat Ata and, most recently, Galil Elyon.
Eilat head coach Oren Aharoni made no secret of his excitement over the addition. "A real point guard, a quality game manager with excellent character, who fits the style we want this team to play," Aharoni said of his new floor leader, according to ONE.
Sport1/Maariv separately confirmed the signing, with the outlet also carrying comments attributed to Schneiderman describing himself as a "quality game manager" — echoing the club's framing of the move as a direct upgrade at the point guard position.
Neither ONE nor Sport1 disclosed contract length or financial terms of the deal.
Eilat's basketball project has been on the rise: the club, formed via the 2024 merger of Hapoel Eilat and Maccabi Eilat into Ironi Eilat, won promotion after topping the 2025/26 National League table and now returns to a higher tier, where a steady, experienced hand at the point should be a priority for Aharoni as he builds his roster for the step up.
