Beer Sheva's Night Race is coming back on September 9, 2026, and organisers say this year's edition has been rebuilt from the ground up — new, recertified routes and a finish-line concert from Israeli psytrance veteran Skazi headlining the after-party.
The course overhaul is the headline change. Organisers describe the reworked track as quicker and cleaner, with the half marathon (21.1km), 10km and 5km competitive routes all remeasured and certified by the Israel Athletics Association, meaning times run there will count for personal bests and qualifying standards.
Alongside the competitive distances, the event keeps its community side intact: shorter fun-runs of 2.5km, 1km and 500m are aimed at families and younger runners who want to take part without racing the clock.
The entertainment package is built around Skazi — the stage name of Asher Swissa, one of Israel's best-known psytrance producers since the late 1990s — who will play a live electronic set at the finish line. The band Rockville is also billed to perform, with organisers promising further surprises around the event's expo village.
There's prize money on offer too: a total pool of 18,000 shekels, with half-marathon podium finishers collecting 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 shekels for first through third, and the top three in the 10km sharing 1,500, 1,000 and 500 shekels.
Sport5 will broadcast live from the race, which is being staged by production company Shvoong. Beyond the running itself, the night is billed as a broader festival — an expo area themed around sport and healthy living, interactive activity zones, and a tribute segment saluting Israel's security forces.
The Beer Sheva Night Race has been a fixture on the Negev's sporting and social calendar for well over a decade, drawing thousands of runners and spectators to the city after dark each year. Registration for the 2026 edition is open now through the event's official site.
