Héctor Fort appears to have made up his mind about where his career goes next. ONE reports that Barcelona's academy-produced right-back has settled on Borussia Dortmund as his preferred destination, turning down rival offers as he looks for a way out of Camp Nou.
According to Sky Deutschland, cited by ONE, the 20-year-old rejected interest from Real Sociedad and Roma over the summer, choosing instead to hold out for a move to the Bundesliga club after concluding he has no future under Hansi Flick.
Fort spent last season on loan at Elche, making 14 La Liga appearances and scoring twice — form good enough to earn him the division's Goal of the Month award in December. He returned to Barcelona for pre-season but has failed to convince Flick he deserves a squad role this time round.
Financially, Barcelona are looking for a package worth €15-20 million, ONE reports, though that figure could come down if the Catalans build in a sell-on percentage or a buyback clause to protect their long-term interest in the player.
Other reporting from Germany and Spain suggests Dortmund's own budget for a new right-back sits closer to €10 million, which may force the two clubs to get creative — a loan with an obligation to buy, or a fee weighted heavily toward add-ons, rather than a straightforward permanent transfer.
