Ironi Nes Ziona has added a sixth import to its roster ahead of the new Israeli Basketball Premier League season, agreeing terms with American forward Justin James, ONE reported on Wednesday.
James, 29, stands 2.01 metres and arrives with an NBA pedigree: Sacramento Kings took him in the second round of the 2019 draft, 40th overall, out of Wyoming, where he had led the Mountain West Conference in scoring as a senior with 22.1 points per game and finished with the third-most career points in conference history.
He spent two seasons in Sacramento, appearing in 72 games and averaging 3.2 points, before his path took him through the G League with the Cleveland Charge, then to Metropolitans 92 in France and on to Álftanes in Iceland.
According to ONE, James's most recent stop before this move was a short stint with Hapoel Galil Elyon last season, where he played four games and averaged 15.8 points, six rebounds, three assists and 1.8 steals.
He now joins a Nes Ziona foreign contingent that already features Jackson Rowe, Jacob Wiley, Bryce Brown, Paris Lee and Freddy Gillespie, rounding out a roster the club is also filling out with Israeli and naturalized players.
ONE's report did not disclose contract length or financial terms, and the club had not issued a formal announcement at the time of writing.
