Niv Eliasi, until recently billed as Hapoel Be'er Sheva's goalkeeper of the future, is closing in on a move to Greece, with ONE reporting that the 24-year-old has all but agreed to sign for Super League side Levadiakos.
According to the report, the move is being structured as a loan with a purchase option, and Eliasi was expected to fly out to finalise the paperwork within days after already visiting the club and the city to weigh up the switch.
ONE reports his new salary in Greece will be around €300,000 gross per season - a rise on what he currently earns in Be'er Sheva - and that Levadiakos hold an option to sign him outright, with a further clause allowing the Greek club to cash in should a bigger domestic rival come calling for him.
Levadiakos, who play in the Boeotia region north of Athens, finished fifth in the Greek Super League last season and have pursued Eliasi's signature for much of the summer, according to Hebrew reports.
The move caps a rapid fall down the pecking order for Eliasi, who started most of last season as Hapoel Be'er Sheva's first-choice goalkeeper before head coach Ran Kozuk turned to Ofir Marciano for the run-in, a switch that helped steer the club to the Israeli championship in May.
He was not part of the squad registered for Hapoel Be'er Sheva's Champions League qualifying tie against Red Star Belgrade, with Jonathan Shani deputising between the posts instead - another sign, ONE noted, that his departure is close.
As Israel's champions, Hapoel Be'er Sheva have already eliminated Vikingur Reykjavik to reach the third qualifying round, where Red Star Belgrade await, and are guaranteed at least a place in this season's Conference League group stage regardless of that tie's outcome.
Eliasi signed a five-year contract with Hapoel Be'er Sheva in 2021 and has previously spent time on loan at Hapoel Ramat HaSharon. He was also part of Israel's squad at the 2024 Paris Olympics, underlining the goalkeeping pedigree that first attracted Greek interest this summer.
