Barcelona have officially confirmed the signing of Jesse Bisiwu, an 18-year-old Belgian winger, from Club Brugge on a five-year contract running through June 30, 2031, ONE reports.
The deal is worth in the region of €8.5 million, according to ESPN and other outlets tracking the negotiation, with Club Brugge retaining a 20 percent cut of any future sale. Barcelona had an earlier bid of around €10 million rejected before the two clubs settled on the lower guaranteed fee plus the sell-on clause.
Bisiwu, born on January 22, 2008, began his career at Louvain before joining Club Brugge's academy in 2020. He made his senior debut for the club's reserve side, Club NXT, in the Belgian second division at just 15 years old, going on to make 36 appearances there.
At youth level he featured 14 times in the UEFA Youth League for Brugge, scoring three goals, and was named to the Best XI of the 2025 European Under-17 Championship after helping Belgium reach the semifinals.
He becomes Barcelona's third attacking addition of the summer, following the arrivals of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United and Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund.
According to FC Barcelona's official announcement, Bisiwu is also only the third Belgian to represent the club's first team, after former captain Thomas Vermaelen and Jan Goyvaerts.
Barcelona confirmed the move on their social channels with a short post reading, "Welcome, Bisiwu! The player has signed until 2031," alongside the club crest.
A debut could come quickly: Bisiwu is expected to be part of Barcelona's squad for a three-team preseason tournament in Udine on August 8, though it will be up to head coach Hansi Flick to decide how quickly he is integrated into the senior group.
