Rogers has signed a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge running to 2033, with Chelsea's official site confirming the deal on Tuesday after talks that ONE says came together in less than 48 hours.
Arsenal had been quietly favourites for weeks and held long-standing contact with Villa, but ONE reports the Gunners were only willing to value Rogers at around £80m — well short of what Chelsea ultimately paid.
The decisive moment, per ONE's reporting, came when new Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso placed a personal call to Rogers laying out his tactical plans for the player, an approach other English outlets have since corroborated as pivotal in turning his head away from north London.
