Hapoel Jerusalem has agreed to sign American forward David Roddy for next season, according to a report by the Israeli sports outlet ONE, in what would be the first move outside the United States of his professional career.
Per the report, Roddy's salary in Jerusalem is expected to approach $1 million for the season. Neither the club nor the player has commented publicly on the terms, and the length of the contract has not been disclosed.
Roddy, a 6-foot-5 forward out of Colorado State, was the No. 23 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, selected by the Philadelphia 76ers before his rights were traded on draft night to the Memphis Grizzlies, where he began his professional career.
He has since played for the Grizzlies, Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks and Philadelphia 76ers organizations, with additional time in the G League with the Memphis Hustle, the Suns' G League affiliate, Toronto Raptors 905 and the Grand Rapids Gold. His most recent NBA stop came with the Denver Nuggets, who signed him to a two-way contract on March 4, 2026.
The reported signing comes as Hapoel Jerusalem rebuilds under new head coach Saša Obradović, the veteran Serbian strategist who took over in June 2026 after a career that included stops with AS Monaco, Crvena Zvezda and ALBA Berlin. Guard Jared Harper, the reigning Israeli Premier League and EuroCup MVP, is among the few holdovers as the club overhauls its roster of imports.
Jerusalem is one of Israeli basketball's most decorated clubs and has been active in the free-agent market this offseason as it looks to build a squad capable of competing deep into next season's EuroCup.
