Erling Haaland has heard the Real Madrid talk attached to his name for years, but this time it comes from someone who watched him grow up in the game. Magnus Wolff Eikrem, who played alongside Haaland at Molde when the striker was still a teenager finding his feet in Norwegian football, says he has no doubt where his old teammate will eventually end up.

"I think it is something that could perfectly happen," Eikrem told Spanish outlet Diario AS. "In fact, I am convinced it will happen someday. I won't say completely sure, but I do see many possibilities."

Eikrem and Haaland were teammates at Molde in 2018 and 2019, the period in which Haaland broke into the senior side before his move to Red Bull Salzburg launched him toward stardom at Borussia Dortmund and then Manchester City.

Eikrem argued that a switch to the Bernabéu would take Haaland's career to a level even City cannot offer. "Real Madrid's power of attraction around the world is immense, and although he is at a great club like City, I think he would reach a higher level at Madrid," he said.

He also predicted Haaland would thrive alongside Madrid's current stars rather than struggle to fit in. "The best players in the world play there, and Erling is one of them," Eikrem said. "I believe he would score a huge number of goals, fit in well, win over the fans, and enjoy playing surrounded by so many great stars."

Beyond the football, Eikrem was keen to describe the personality behind the goals, calling Haaland low-maintenance in the dressing room despite his global profile. "Haaland does not cause problems," he said. "He is a humble person who works hard, he does not seek to take all the spotlight, he has a good relationship with his teammates, and he adapts to any situation."

Eikrem recalled that even at 16, when nobody could have forecast the scale of what Haaland would become, his dedication already stood out — arriving at training with a smile, staying behind for extra work, and showing an early interest in nutrition that was unusual for a player his age.

None of this amounts to concrete transfer business. Haaland remains contracted to Manchester City heading into the 2026-27 season, now under new manager Enzo Maresca following Pep Guardiola's departure from the club in the summer, and there is no indication of an imminent move to Spain. Eikrem's comments are one former teammate's reading of where Haaland's career is heading, not a report of contact between the two clubs — but with Real Madrid's interest in the Norwegian a recurring theme for several years now, it is the kind of testimony that keeps the speculation alive.
