Beitar Jerusalem will be backed by one of the largest away followings it has taken abroad in years when it lands in Romania for Thursday's Conference League second-leg qualifier against AEK Larnaca, with more than 3,000 supporters expected to make the trip, ONE reports.
The tie is finely poised: Beitar go into the second leg holding a 1-0 aggregate lead after winning the first meeting in Cyprus, a game settled by a Brayan Carabali free-kick after AEK defender Mike van der Hoorn was sent off.
Because AEK's home leg is being staged away from Cyprus, Thursday's decider will be played in Ploiești, just outside Bucharest, with kickoff set for 20:30 local time.
Beitar's travelling delegation departs Israel on Wednesday at 15:15 on a dedicated Israir charter to Bucharest, before continuing on to Ploiești for the match. The flight is scheduled to return to Israel on Friday.
According to ONE, close to 2,000 travel packages had already been snapped up by supporters even before the club's own ticket sale opened, with the total following expected to top 3,000 - among the biggest away crowds Beitar has taken to Europe in recent seasons.
The club has also circulated a pointed warning to its fans, relaying guidance issued after consultation with Romanian police: pyrotechnics, flares, torches and other flammable materials are strictly forbidden under Romanian law, with offenders liable to arrest. Drugs are likewise banned.
On the pitch, defender Luka Gadrani and midfielder Tomer Yosefi have both been included in the travelling squad, though their availability for Thursday's match remains uncertain, ONE reports.
The winner of the tie advances to the Conference League's third qualifying round, one step closer to the competition's group-stage playoffs.
