M.K. Kfar Saba, the young club representing the Sharon town in Liga Alef South, have announced that defender Tal Banash will remain with them for another season, tying down one of the more reliable performers from a squad that is being reshaped for the coming campaign.
Banash, a Kfar Saba native, came up through the youth ranks at Hapoel Kfar Saba before a well-travelled career that took in spells at Hapoel Tel Aviv and Beitar Jerusalem, among other clubs, in both the top flight and the national league.
The right-back was one of the most durable presences in last season's side, starting all 23 league matches and being withdrawn early in only two of them, for a total of roughly 2,200 minutes on the pitch — a workload the club highlighted in announcing the extension.
M.K. Kfar Saba is a separate entity from the city's better-known Hapoel Kfar Saba, now Maccabi Haifa's satellite club, and from Beitar Kfar Saba, having built its own following in the third tier over the past couple of seasons under manager Shimon Alkabetz, who arrived after a successful stint in charge of Beitar Yavneh.
Banash's new deal is one of several retention moves the club confirmed this summer. Goalkeeper Ben Weitzman, 32, midfielder Ariel Golan, 19, and defender Roni Laufer, 25, have also agreed to stay on for the new campaign.
Alongside the renewals, the club has been active in the transfer market, bringing in defender Ohad Atiya, 28, striker Mor Saado, 20, left-back Ben Levi, 23, and forward Omer Pruchtman, 22, as it builds a squad aimed at pushing higher up the Liga Alef South table.
