Bnei Yehuda have added a proven attacking threat to their squad, confirming the signing of Brazilian winger Zé Flores after his departure from Moldovan champions Sheriff Tiraspol.
Sport5 reported that the 27-year-old, born in Rio de Janeiro, has signed a one-year contract with the Tel Aviv-Bat Yam club, with options to extend for a further two seasons.
Flores arrives with a strong recent pedigree. At Sheriff, where he wore the number 10 shirt, he scored 11 goals last season and was a key figure as the club won a domestic cup.
His route to Moldova took in spells in Lithuania and Italy before he established himself as one of Sheriff's most dangerous attacking players, according to the report.
"I'm very excited to join Bnei Yehuda," Flores said, according to Sport5. "From the first moment I felt the club's strong desire to bring me in and their trust in my abilities."
He added that he was "already waiting to wear the orange shirt" and help the team achieve its goals this season — a nod to the club's long-standing nickname, Ha'Ktumim, the Oranges.
No transfer fee was disclosed in the report, and the deal has yet to be confirmed by an official club statement.
The move gives Bnei Yehuda a fresh attacking option heading into pre-season, with the club looking to build on last term's Liga Leumit playoff campaign as they push for a return to the top flight.
