Bnei Sakhnin have added a forward to their squad for the coming season, confirming that Loai Halaf has signed a two-year contract after leaving Maccabi Netanya, ONE reports.
The 25-year-old's exit from Netanya comes after a frustrating campaign in which he barely featured: ONE reports he made just three Ligat Ha'al appearances last season and did not score, having joined the club on a free transfer two years earlier.
Halaf, an Arab-Israeli forward born in the Nesher area, came up through the youth ranks at Ironi Nesher before a loan spell at Hapoel Akko and then several productive seasons at Maccabi Bnei Reineh between 2021 and 2024, where he was part of the squad that helped drive the club's historic first promotion to Ligat Ha'al.
He also had a brief stint abroad in 2024 with a Romanian club before returning to Israel to sign for Netanya, where minutes proved hard to come by under coach Yosi Abuksis.
Bnei Sakhnin confirmed the signing with a short statement: "We welcome forward Loai Halaf's arrival at Bnei Sakhnin. The player has signed with the club for two seasons. Good luck."
The move gives Sakhnin fresh competition up front as they build their squad ahead of the new campaign, banking on a player still looking to recapture the goal-scoring form that marked his time at Bnei Reineh.
