Hapoel Haifa is going back to a forward it already knows well. ONE reports that coach Haim Silves has identified William Agada, the Nigerian striker who once wore the club's shirt on loan, as one of his top targets to reinforce the attack this summer, and that the club is now in negotiations to bring him back to the Carmel.
The pursuit is a reunion of sorts. Agada spent the 2020/21 season on loan at Hapoel Haifa from Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem, and it was there, still only 21, that he first showed the finishing that would define his career, scoring regularly for a Silves side that leaned on him up front.
From Haifa he returned to Jerusalem, where he was the club's top scorer in 2021/22 with eight league goals as Hapoel Jerusalem fought to stay in the Israeli Premier League. Across four seasons in Israeli football, split between Jerusalem and the Haifa loan spell, he scored 37 league goals - a return that eventually carried him out of the country altogether.
Sporting Kansas City signed Agada from Hapoel Jerusalem in July 2022, and he quickly became a fixture in MLS, twice finishing as the club's top scorer. He moved on to Real Salt Lake in 2025 before a further switch this past January to Real Zaragoza in Spain's second division, where he is currently under contract through the end of the season.
That contract situation is why ONE frames Agada as "relatively expensive" for Hapoel Haifa to land - any deal now would likely mean negotiating a fee, or a loan, with a European club rather than a free pickup. According to the report, agent Yoav Katz is handling the talks on Agada's behalf.
If completed, the move would give Silves a genuine second scoring threat alongside Alon Torgeman, pairing a proven Israeli Premier League finisher with a forward who already knows the dressing room, the coach and, by his own account from his first Haifa spell, the feeling of being trusted as a starter.
Agada has barely featured for Zaragoza since his January arrival, and a summer switch back to a league where he has a track record of goals would not be unprecedented for a player looking to rebuild his minutes. Nothing has been made official by either club, and no fee or contract length has been reported.
For Hapoel Haifa, the interest fits a wider pattern of a squad being rebuilt for the new season, with Silves keen to add proven firepower before the Israeli Premier League campaign gets underway.
