Tamir Berman is on the move again, but this time he barely needs to pack — ONE reports the central defender has left Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv to sign for Hapoel Kfar Shalem, swapping one side of the Hatikva Quarter for the other.
The headline writes itself in Tel Aviv football circles: Bnei Yehuda and Kfar Shalem are neighbourhood rivals separated by little more than a few streets, and both currently call the modest Hatikva Neighborhood Stadium home. For Berman, this is as literal a cross-town move as Israeli football offers.
The 25-year-old is Argentine-Israeli, Jewish by heritage, which means he does not count against Kfar Shalem's foreign-player quota — a detail that made him an attractive squad option to begin with when Bnei Yehuda brought him over from Italian football in July 2025.
He went on to make 24 Liga Leumit appearances for Bnei Yehuda last season, chipping in two goals from the back, before the club apparently moved him on this summer.
Kfar Shalem, for their part, are rebuilding around a familiar face on the touchline. Noam Shoham has returned for a second stint as head coach, arriving fresh off guiding Maccabi Petah Tikva to promotion into Ligat Ha'al — a track record the Hatikva Quarter club will hope he can repeat closer to home.
The team finished last season fighting for promotion through the Liga Leumit playoffs before falling short, and the Berman signing is part of a wider reinforcement push as Shoham looks to have his squad ready in time for pre-season.
ONE also reports Kfar Shalem are close to adding Amit Nimni, son of Maccabi Tel Aviv legend and club record scorer Avi Nimni, with his signing expected to be finalised this week.
Other names mentioned by the outlet as recent or expected additions include Matan Beit Yaakov, Dror Nir, Iby Ransom and goalkeeper Tomer Tzarfati, with the club said to be targeting three further signings before the new campaign begins.
No contract length or transfer fee has been disclosed for Berman's move, and Kfar Shalem have not yet issued their own confirmation of the deal.
