M.S. Ashdod and Bnei Yehuda both won on the road in round two of the Toto Cup's Liga Leumit group phase on Monday, August 3, 2026, two of the more eye-catching results on a night when the second tier's Toto Cup campaign began to take shape.
Ashdod, playing away at Maccabi Jaffa, needed until late in the game to break the deadlock. Osama Khalaileh converted from the penalty spot in the 79th minute, and Maor Kuba doubled the lead in the third minute of stoppage time, finishing off a cross from Khalaileh to make it 2-0, according to Sport5.
The win comes in Ashdod's first campaign back in the Liga Leumit after a decade in the top flight. The club, one of Ligat Ha'al's more established names over the past ten years, were relegated at the end of the 2025/26 season and are now rebuilding in the second tier.
Bnei Yehuda's night was tighter. Away at M.S. Kafr Qasem, the only goal came in the 53rd minute when Stav Nahmani rose to head home from a corner, giving the Tel Aviv club a 1-0 win to open their account for the round.
The result matters a little more for Bnei Yehuda than a standard early-season group game: they arrive in this year's Toto Cup as the competition's reigning champions, having lifted the trophy for the first time in the club's history last season after winning the final on penalties.
Both wins keep Ashdod and Bnei Yehuda well placed in their respective Toto Cup groups as the Liga Leumit's pre-season cup competition builds toward its knockout stages later in the year.
